Keeping it quiet
It is nearly impossible to keep a 2 1/2 -year-old quiet. Owen constantly talks (which I love :)), and Lily Kate is becoming aware of sounds--especially loud ones. So all of Owen's loudness is making it difficult for her to sleep. We have a rule that there is no screaming in the house. We have to use our inside voices. Today when Lily Kate was sleeping, I told Owen he could play out on our screened-in porch. I left the door open so that he could come in and out. He was playing with his cars, and he started screaming at the top of his lungs. I looked at him, knowing that I couldn't get on to him since technically he was outside. He looked back at me and said "Mommy, I'm on the screaming porch." I guess "screened-in porch" sounded like "screaming porch" to him! This kid cracks me up!
