Saturday Night at the ER!

Owen + climbing down from the chair at the table + hitting chin on the chair = Pediatric ER at Kennestone!

As soon as it happened, I knew that he was hurt. Daddy came to the rescue with a Closure Pad to stop the bleeding. After applying pressure for the 5 minutes for it to clot, I removed the pad to see the cut was wide open and talking to me. I turned white and almost threw up (even as I am recounting this, I am getting queasy). We did manage to get the cut to stop bleeding, but I knew it was more than a bandaid and some love could fix!

Granna and Granddaddy just happened to be in Kennesaw shopping, so they headed over to put Lily Kate down for bed while we loaded up the car to the ER. God truly had his hand on us. Kennestone has a Pediatric ER to keep us out of the regular ER. There was only one other person in the ER besides us, so the whole process moved quickly. They checked us in and we met the nurse and doctor relatively quickly. The cleaned the wound with a salt water solution, and told us the greatest news of all--They could use DERMABOND instead of stitches!!!!! Owen was a trooper and did exactly what they said--no tears at all! He even got an orange popsicle from the nurse for being such a good little boy.

We have to keep the area away from his hands and water for about a week, and then we should see it starting to heal. We are truly thankful for the Lord's hand in the whole process, and look forward to it healing!

What a way to wrap up the weekend!
